Texas Contemporary
Sep 29 – Oct 2, 2016

Texas Contemporary, Houston’s leading contemporary and modern art fair, brings the country’s best galleries to the area’s discerning collector base. Featuring a range of works and mediums, Texas Contemporary presents what is new in art as well as a focused representation of interests for this unique city.

Last year, Texas Contemporary’s 15,000 visitors, the Houston Chronicle’s “savvy crowd of collectors, dealers, curators and artists,” were met with dazzling ON-SITE installations, a robust schedule of talks, tours, and events, and access to the best in modern and contemporary art from around the world presented by the country’s top dealers. The fifth edition of Texas Contemporary also welcomed the launch of the fair’s dynamic partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs at The Mexican Consulate in Houston. Curated by Leslie Moody Castro, independent curator based in Mexico City, The Other Mexico highlighted Mexico City’s ground-breaking arts scene and aimed to make a tangible connection between the cities of Houston and Mexico City.

2016 will continue the fair’s relationship with Texas’ finest institutions and museums. Texas Contemporary is excited to welcome back the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston as the fair’s Preview Beneficiary.
